Robert Brooks Cohen Coaching
When your life starts to shift,
it’s easy to feel lost.
Trust what you know.
Live in alignment.
I specialize in coaching and resources for people navigating identity and relationship shifts — helping you trust your inner knowing and live in alignment with what’s true for you.
This might be for you if…
You’re realizing something about yourself that you can’t ignore anymore
You feel like your identity is shifting — and you’re not sure what it means
A relationship in your life is changing, or needs to change, and it’s creating tension
You’re torn between what you know is true and what feels easier to maintain
You keep going in circles trying to “figure it out” instead of moving forward
You’re worried about hurting someone, disrupting your life, or making the wrong choice
You want to be more honest, more yourself — but don’t know how to get there safely
You sense that something deeper is calling you, but you don’t fully understand or trust it yet
You don’t need to have it all figured out. You just need a place to be honest about what’s really going on — and someone to help you trust what you already know.
That’s what I offer: a space to say the things you haven’t been able to say — and start to see what’s actually possible from there.
Awareness leads to clarity. Clarity leads to action.
“Rob is a naturally gifted coach, it's clear that guiding people on their journeys toward healing and authenticity is what he is meant to be doing. He's humble and curious and kind. He has a strong point of view but he doesn't drive the session. He embodies so much acceptance and love and curiosity that just being in his presence is healing. I got so much validation, support and strength from every session with Rob. And he asked me to reflect on myself and my life in ways that have unlocked new truths and powerful new paradigms.”
—Austin, 38
“Working with Rob has been transformative. His empathetic listening and thoughtful guidance have helped me navigate deeply personal challenges with clarity and confidence. Through our sessions, I’ve developed a stronger sense of self-love and acceptance, enabling me to show up more authentically in every area of my life. This journey hasn’t been easy, but Rob's ability to create a safe and affirming space has been truly invaluable. I genuinely look forward to every coaching session with him!”
—Leonard, 45
About me
For a long time, I was living a life that looked great from the outside — but didn’t fully feel like mine. I couldn’t separate what I thought I should do from what I actually wanted.
Coming out as bisexual in my early 30s changed everything.
At first, it felt like a specific part of my life I needed to explore. But as I did, I realized it was about much more than sexuality. For years, I had been avoiding that part of myself — which felt easier in the moment, but it came at a cost. When I finally faced it, I felt an immediate sense of relief and a deeper connection to myself and my creative spirit.
That experience opened the door to something bigger: learning how to be honest with myself, feel what I had been avoiding, and sit with discomfort instead of pushing it away. I began making choices in all areas of life that were actually aligned with who I am — not just what I thought I was supposed to do.
It didn’t give me all the answers. But it taught me how to trust myself, how to go with the flow of life, and how to move forward even when things feel uncertain or messy. It also showed me how much energy we spend holding things in — and what becomes possible when we stop.
That’s the work I do now.
I help people navigate identity and relationship shifts — especially when something true is emerging that can’t be ignored. While I’ve specialized in working with queer, bi+, and fluid men, my work has expanded to support anyone who is learning to live more honestly, trust their inner knowing, and move through change with more clarity and less resistance.
I’m the host of Two Bi Guys (By One Bi Guy), a podcast about sexuality, gender, and relationships, and the author of Bisexual Married Men: Stories of Relationships, Acceptance, and Authenticity.
Before this, I spent over a decade writing and producing for television, including seven seasons on Law & Order: SVU — work that sharpened my ability to listen deeply, understand complex human behavior, and tell honest, nuanced stories.
“As someone who considers myself to be fairly self aware, I'm amazed at how Rob is able to help me talk my way to zeroing in on an issue I hadn't before, while both keeping me on track and comfortable doing it. You get the feeling he really loves to go with you on your thought journey and help make sense of those thoughts.”
—Crystal, 40s
“Despite using basic therapy to help me calm my anxiety, I still didn't know where I was going. Rob’s coaching has really done wonders for my fear of the future. He just knows what questions to ask at the right time to find my way over the next hurdle. I now have bigger dreams and goals than I could have ever imagined without his coaching.”

What coaching with me is like
Our work is conversational and grounded in what’s actually true for you — not what you “should” do. I’ll ask open-ended questions that help you build awareness and reconnect with your inner knowing.
💬 We follow what’s coming up.
The tension, the questions, the things you haven’t been able to say out loud — that’s where we start.
👁️ Clarity comes from honesty.
As you begin to name what’s really going on, things become clearer. We’ll look at what’s getting in the way and what needs your attention to move forward.
➡ We turn insight into action.
Together, we’ll identify what you want and take steps that feel aligned and sustainable — with support and accountability along the way.
You don’t need to have all the answers right away. Over time, this work leads to more clarity, more confidence in your choices, and a deeper sense of peace with the path you’re on.
Speak Honestly
We’ll create a safe space to say the things you’ve been holding back — without judgment.
How this work unfolds
This process helps you come back to your own inner knowing — and learn to trust it.
Create Awareness
Start to see what’s actually going on beneath the surface.
I’m a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) trained at the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and accredited by the International Coaching Federation (ICF, ACC).
My approach is grounded in listening closely to what’s coming up for you — not giving advice or telling you what to do. I follow your energy, reflect what I’m hearing, and help you get clearer on what’s actually true for you.
I was skeptical of coaching at first, but through my training and my own experience being coached, I’ve seen how powerful it can be. I continue to invest in my own growth by regularly working with coaches myself.

“I signed up for 11 individual coaching sessions with Rob to help me figure out how to navigate my newly understood bisexuality, demisexuality, and queerness in my early 60s. I've experienced so much positive change in just 3 months. I'm now really plugged into queer and bi-male communities and communicating my interest in other men clearly and authentically. All of the relationships in my life are deeper now... Rob's outstanding and transformative style of coaching have helped me to find truths and change from within -- to trust and love myself and to be true to the unique multidimensional person I am.. to ‘come home to myself’.”
—“MQLS”, 60s
“Rob and his work have been so impactful to me it's hard to put into words. First with his podcast, then his book and eventually through coaching, Rob has guided me through the biggest journey toward authenticity in my life… Reading his book allowed me to hear stories from multiple men just like me, it was an absolute treasure trove… helped me feel whole, normal, and gave me the ability to stop questioning who I am and start living as my true self… I used my coaching engagement with him to come out to my family and my wife's family and I couldn't be more grateful for Rob guiding me on so many steps of this journey.”

Testimonials
“I’ve never had a life coach and didn’t really know what to expect, but from the very beginning, Rob was exceptionally insightful and guided me into things that I had never thought about. He changed my life, and I am so grateful for the invaluable exploration of myself that I have gained through my time with him. I love the energy that he brings, and he keeps track of our conversation so attentively.
In every session since then, there are new experiences or updates that we discuss, and then I get to go out and put these things to good use in the real world… and the work! I feel as though I have less anxiety, more clarity, more direction, and I’m now goal-focused. Without a doubt, I would highly recommend Rob as a life coach to anyone looking to change their life for the better. I promise, you won’t be disappointed.”
—Austin, 60s
“Awesome to hear your coaching is going so well. I know you're good at it. Thanks again by the way. You really helped me move forward. [My wife] and I are doing great. We got through the minefield and realized we had been doing our relationship all wrong. We opened up our relationship and renewed our vows this year. I think we are both the happiest we've ever been.”
—Anonymous, 50s
“I began meeting with Rob at the start of my marital separation. I had been seeing a good therapist for over a year, but I found Rob’s coaching to be extremely helpful during this major life transition. Rob is kind, naturally empathetic, and provided just the kind of support and guidance that I needed.”
—Don
“Rob's coaching transformed my journey of self-acceptance. As a Master's student from India exploring my bisexuality, I found a guiding light in Rob’s coaching. His podcast, "Two Bi Guys" initially drew me in, but his coaching sessions truly made a profound impact. Rob’s approach is marked by empathy, wonderful questions, keen observations, and the ability to create a safe, comfortable space for self-discovery at your own pace. The insights I gained about myself were transformative, especially in dealing with my anxieties around bisexuality and relationships. If you're feeling stuck, whether personally or professionally, I highly recommend a session with Rob—it might just be the breakthrough you need.”
